Fruit Heights City General Plan Update
Help Shape the Future of Fruit Heights!
Fruit Heights City is updating its General Plan, the community’s long-term vision for how land is used, how neighborhoods grow and change, and how the City invests in streets, trails, parks, and public services over the next 20 to 30 years.
The current General Plan, adopted in 2023, provides a solid foundation. Since then, residents have shared concerns about some of its policies and direction. This update is an opportunity to respond to those concerns directly, reflect current state requirements, and make the Plan a clearer, more useful tool for residents, City leaders, and property owners.
With very little room left to expand, Fruit Heights’ future depends on decisions about the land we already have: where new development fits, how to protect the character of established neighborhoods, and how to keep City services financially sustainable. As part of this effort, the City will also review its Land Development Code to identify changes needed to carry out the updated Plan. The updated General Plan is expected to be considered for adoption in summer 2027.
This is where your voice matters most! Over the coming months, the City will post draft materials here as they are developed, including an existing conditions report, a community vision and goals, and draft plan chapters. Watch this page for upcoming opportunities to participate, including a community open house and online surveys. Your comments will directly inform the decisions that shape Fruit Heights’ future.
